SAS-02, the Jazz Sitar “light”
Finaly, the third new sitar SAS-02 is also ready. The same Slimbucker™ Jazz guitar pickup, made by Kent Armstrong, as with the SAS-01, Jazz Sitar is used. The only difference with SAS-01 is that on this sitar the taravs and taravbar are not installed. So, I call it the Jazz Sitar “light”…
Day 67: Installing another Kent Armstrong “Jazz Model” superslim pickup. First making a pickup mount, then glueing the pickup on it and soldering the wires, drilling a hole for the wire and one for the jack plug, and finaly mounting the pickup unit to the body…
I’ve fitted this rosewood strip to be able to mount taravs later. This sitar is now ready to have taravs installed on request at any moment. Only need is to make an extra tarav-kuti bar cfr. SAS-01. Hence the name Jazz Sitar “light”… “light” both literally and figuratively.
Dear SitarFactory, please care to explain:
Since there are no symp-strings on this model, why the brown strip on the patri ?
(P.S.:Nice work – please keep it up!)
